I noticed something strange when they updated the map just before the release of the expansion and then noticed it again yesterday as I looked at the world map again. If you scroll over to distant Khitai you will see a large island which should not exist. It is labeled as Lemuria. However, in the Hyborian age Lemuria no longer exists. At the end of the Thurian age when the great cataclysm rocked the world and sank Atlantis it also sank Lemuria. In an essay written by Robert E. Howard simply titled "The Hyborian Age" he writs the following.

"Then the Cataclysm rocked the world. Atlantis and Lemuria sank, and the Pictish Islands were heaved up to for the mountain peaks of a new continent.....Many Lemurians escaped to the eastern coast of the Thurian Continent, which was comparatively untouched. There they were enslaved by the ancient race which already dwelt there, and their history, for thousands of years, is a history of brutal servitude...."

It goes on to say how they rebelled against their masters and drove them from the land and eventually over time they, the former Lemurians, became known as the Hyrkanians.

So, in all, funcoms map is rather inaccurate.

In lore, there wasnt 10,000 spell casters running around either. It took a lifetime of devotion to use magic.

There were quite a few in various places. Stygia alone had a pretty fair share of magick users. However, the magicks were very different.
